Description: New Untreated Oak - With No Creosote or Tar Treatment. This New Oak Railway Sleeper is our 'Premium grade' which is more square and slightly less wane than our Standard Grade'. A Genuine quality Oak Sleeper, Long Lasting and knot holed. Hardwood Requires No Treatment.

Colour: Light Golden Brown to Grey (after appx 6 months will turn a silver/grey colour).

Fixings: Timberfast fixings will screw easily through these without a pilot hole, using a powerful drill. These can be purchased here online.

Railway Sleepers have a sawn finish and can vary in dimension by a few mm under or over our listed sizes. This is perfectly normal in the timber trade and we cannot guarantee exact tolerances, especially as some sawmills cut over or under and the timber can shrink or expand according to the surrounding weather conditions.
 
If you need a precise size, we will advise if we can offer it cut exact but please be aware that there may well be an extra milling charge to achieve this.

Please note that we offer a cross cutting service for new Railway Sleepers. The price per cross cut is £6.00 inclusive of vat.

Disclaimer: We cannot guarantee against pin holes (it is allowable within grade), this is a rustic, natural product free of chemicals but is open to the normal threats of nature/insect that can infect the standing tree through the bark and sapwood.

Because sleepers are a natural product it is not possible to guarantee exact size tolerances nor squareness.
